Minix X8-H Stuttering on YouTube & Twitch

Hi All,

I have 2 Minix Neo X8's and both of these boxes suffer from stuttering video on YouTube & Twitch. Could one of you experts tell me where I'm going wrong as YouTube works on my most basic android phone. All other videos work fine on MX player for example. Is there going to be an update to fix this or has there already been that I might have missed. Please Help as anything I watch on these 2 websites is basically unwatchable.

X8 plus wipe cache

I tried to wipe the cache partition of my X8 plus, I entered recovery mode, I was able to use the controller to select options i.e. factory wipe and clear cache but was unable to select the option.

How am I supposed to select the option that I select? The box does not have any physical buttons on it

Hello I have a minix neo x8 plus. I am experiencing difficulties with kodi. The device runs on Android 4,4,2. The new kodi cannot be installed because the device software is too old. Is it possible to update it? The box is now useless unfortunately...

Stuttering Stuttering

I have a x8 plus running lollipop 5,1.
I have tried every trick in the book to stop the stuttering in kodi ver 17.4 but I can't fix it. I note that everybody has this problem reading the internet posts. Will there be a patch at some point.
i have tried everything that has been suggested on the forums. Can any one help?

Hi, I've got my Minix for about 2 years and I remember that this device was sold as 4K and other good features.
I changed the firmware but I'm still using a Kitkat version and when I play some videos on YouTube I notice some slowing down, etc. and for sure is not a network connection.
Why do I encountering this issues?
Now 1Gb Ram is not enough anymore?

Hi. I have recently purchased a brand new Sony TV Ultra HD model along with the correct hdmi cable. I felt this would be beneficial with the increase of 4K being available using the boxes. In both KODI & even the You Tube app the playback is not 4k quality through the MINIX- X8-H Plus .The tv itself has you tube on it and the 4k playback available is fantastic through it direct.

Is there certain steps and settings I need to set-up within KODI to get 4K working. Please note I have tried SPMC...

Chromecast emulator

Is there any Chromecast emulator that works fine? I have Cheapcast but it plays videos with audio lag.
I want to see series and films of HBO, but its app doesn't work with rooted devices.

Hi All,

My minix was stack on its logo when I tried to turn it on,
so I tried to flash the latest firmware from MINIX official site.
after 6% I get an error:

[0x30404004]UBOOT/Partition boot/Get download status/Error result

Snes usb controler not working

Hi all

I have buyed an usb snes controler to play roms with the snes emulator but it doesn’t work. I have the latest original firmware with root function enabled.

With the custom probox firmware the controler works fine! I can use it to control the whole box
but there i have sound problems with other apps so i downgrade back with the latest original firmware with root function enabled.

So how can i fix this?

green and purple screen

Wonder if anyone can help? Screen on tv is fine with Showbox or Youtube...if I use Mobdro however, screen is green and purple, impossible to watch anything, screen judders, freezes, is there any way to sort it or is the Minix damaged?

Hi all,

I was stuck on android logo (suddenly, no special operation or app install).
After read some thread I decided to use the burning tools to flash a fresh fw (009).

The box is recognize (when doing recover button+ power on) but the flash always fails at 22% with the following error:
[HUB1-4][Err]--[0x30403003]UBOOT/Partition system/Download buffer/Data tranfer error

Hi guys, this is my first time starting a new thread so forgive me if I done it wrong. Im trying to fix my friends Minix X8-H which has being working perfect up until yesterday. It switches on but nothing comes on screen. The firmware on it, I’m almost sure is the most recent available and the blue light powers on when pushed but I get no visual no matter what. I tried to hook it up to the computer and using the latest Burning tool v2.0.6.2 I tried to flash the 009 firmware I get Connect...

Hello too All :)
Hope that everyone is doing great
I need some help (sorry) I have a Minix Neo X8H unfortunatly when i connect it to the tv nothing happens only the blue led lights up and a black screen on the TV with no signal.
I have tried the reset but nothing happens ?
I have red the help forum and tried to use the USB Burning tool and flash it but i get an error on 2% in red ?? Disconnects and connects like a cycle and i hear a sound on the computer as i was connecting desconnecting the...

Just an interesting story to share.

Do not attempt the same procedures if you're not an expert.

One of my many many boards refused to go flashing after I left it aside for months.

Then one idea came to my mind: Um... the eMMC is probably corrupted/locked up for some reasons.

So I opened the case and took the board out,

then I power it up and short PIN TP13 & TP15 together with a metallic paper clip (a conductor).
(During the design stage we have reserved these pins on...

Just saved a board by shorting the TP13 & TP15 pins

persistent paths for external storage on a usb hub

Hi all,

I just upgraded my minix neox8hplus to the new lolipop system and lost some functionality that existed on the old OS.

I have 4 hard drives attached to a USB hub that connects to the minix box. I also have mizuu tv/movie app that accesses the external storage through the USB hub. On the old OS the drive assignment was persistent in that the drives were consistently assigned a path in android.

The new system changes the drive...

No signal until triggered by another device.

When I plug my Neo X8-H into either of 2 HDMI ports on my projector there's no signal. I've tried every conceivable variation I can think of: different port, different cable, order of turning on or off connecting, etc. It doesn't work.
But then if I put any another device (Chromecast, X-Box, whatever) in one of the other HDMI ports, turn it on, set the input for that port, get the signal for a bit.... then when I switch to the other HDMI where the Neo is connected, it works.
What's going on? I...

X8-H running FTMC / XBMC for Minix 16.4, working fine but just seems to get a bit slow sometimes.
We kill all tasks every night and put into Sleep, We Re-Boot every few weeks or at least monthly.

Had a really good clean-up recently of the FTMC and XBMC folders to get rid of anything not needed, but see there are still plenty of Apps in the App list that we don't use/need. We only run basic stuff like ES Explorer, CCleaner, Speedtest, Minix OTA Upgrade, FTMC & XBMC for Minix so have no use for...

What Apps can I Disable or Remove ...

x8 remote control not working after factory reset

Hello all,

I did a factory reset on my x8, but now my remote control is not working like it should. Power button works, home button works. But that's it.
I also have a neo A2 lite remote, and that has the same problem...Air mouse works, home and the power button work...But that's it.
Did I miss something when doing the reset? Do I have to install new firmware to get the remotes working again? I'm stuck :-(

MINIX x8-h, vizio soundbar

Strange problem. So updated the MINIX x8h to firmware 004, using burning tool and USB. Now when watching anything and use vizio soundbar remote to adjust volume. Volume up cause's fast forward. Volume down turn box off. Wondering if anyone else has this issue and possibly a fix
