Amazon Prime Instant Video is available now but crashes

Yesterday Amazon has released the Prime Instant Video app in Germany
wwwamazonde/Amazon-com-Prime-Instant-Video/dp/B00N28818A

I have installed the app and the corresponding "Amazon App".
When I launch the app and select a video, the monitor goes all black, the "Amazon App" crashes and I am back on the home screen.

I have tried the phone and tablet version of the "Amazon App".

Any ideas or suggestions?

[Solved]I want to root my Minix Device

Hello,

As the title says I want to root my Minix Neo X8-H Android TV device. I am running the latest and greatest firmware from the OTA app tool. I did have it rooted before but I am guessing an update has wiped that out. BUT, it has also wiped out the way to root the device.

I used to just go to settings and choose other then system update then I could choose neo x8h_root_update.zip

But all it does now is just open the OTA update app tool. And the Update&Backup app is gone from the app...

Hi, I need help updating my NEO X8-H

System:
Build number 20141015
Android 4.4.2

Tried zip method but neither SD card nor USB is recognized at reboot menu. Both the SD and the USB are formatted as primary partitions with FAT32. Per forum suggestion, I used Diskpart to assign a partition type ID to 0x81 to make it think it was a linux system.

Downloaded and upacked X8_X8PLUS_X8H_FW009.rar
Installed the USB Burning Tool and can successfully connect to the Minix at reboot.

When I go to import...

Updating the kernel?

Is there a way to update the kernel of my box running android 4.4.2 kernel 3.10.33
to kernel 3.19.10 as the first is known of "sideloads" by root access?

I also want it upgrade to dnf package manager, including apt-get and some minor
linux packages like rawhide or developer packages.

The best way to run kodi 17 on minix x8 h

I'm looking advice from members as it's not possible for lollipop on this device what's the best way to run kodi 17 On this device?

Would it be better to use
LibreElec as os also would it be better to daul boot or just wipe android and LibreElec
To load from internal?

Or would it be better to just use Install one of the kodi forks that is based on kodi FTMC MMC and EBMC etc?

I have a Minix x8h which I purchased 3-4 years ago, can't remember when and I have never updated it. I want to update it to what is present at the moment, so I really need help in doing so in a way which is easy to follow especially for a newbie myself, any help would be appreciated.

Hello. Im trying to uppdate my minix from 4.4.2 to lollipop or later but cant find any firmware.
Put in the latest 009 (build nr 20160328). Is it possible to uppgrade to 5.1 or higher or do I have to by a new tv box.

No signal until triggered by another device.

When I plug my Neo X8-H into either of 2 HDMI ports on my projector there's no signal. I've tried every conceivable variation I can think of: different port, different cable, order of turning on or off connecting, etc. It doesn't work.
But then if I put any another device (Chromecast, X-Box, whatever) in one of the other HDMI ports, turn it on, set the input for that port, get the signal for a bit.... then when I switch to the other HDMI where the Neo is connected, it works.
What's going on? I...

No signal until triggered by another device.

HDMI Colour Space & Deep Colour Settings

In the process of going through settings and found that my Pioneer Kuro can accept various Colour Space and Deep Colour Settings on it's HDMI Inputs.

So, what does the X8-H output as its HDMI 1080i, 1080p & 1080p/24 default settings for these video items:
Colour Space - RGB / YCbCr / YcbCr422 / Full RGB
Deep Colour - 30 Bits / 36 Bits / 48 Bits

Hi there , my X8 H is powering up (blue LED) on an display on TV is MINIX LOGO with a hazey blue and green background & a very jumpy display. I have tried to reset with button on rear of box but it will not go into reset mode .
Any direction or help appreciated.

Just saved a board by shorting the TP13 & TP15 pins

Just an interesting story to share.

Do not attempt the same procedures if you're not an expert.

One of my many many boards refused to go flashing after I left it aside for months.

Then one idea came to my mind: Um... the eMMC is probably corrupted/locked up for some reasons.

So I opened the case and took the board out,

then I power it up and short PIN TP13 & TP15 together with a metallic paper clip (a conductor).
(During the design stage we have reserved these pins on...

Just saved a board by shorting the TP13 & TP15 pins

Hi All,

my X8-H is still factory version with no updates and recently decided to upgrade as i have been having a few issues particularly with XBMC and sound. So i have been going round in circles on the forum and found that you can update OTA, which when I try I always get no updates available screen.

In short i would like to update to the latest firmware without loosing my existing data can anyone advise or point me to the correct forum/instructions.

X8-H - Video stuttering with Twitch and Youtube

Every time I open a live stream in 720p in either Youtube or Twitch, the video stutters and is unbearable to watch. Once I lower the quality, it streams fine. I have watched and streamed 1080p videos from MX player, kodi, Youtube (regular non livestream videos) with no problems. Why does it always stutter when it's a live stream with Twitch or Youtube?

Virtual Keyboard Disappeared

Hello,

I've got a problem with my x8.
I bought it week ago and at some point virtual keyboard simply stopped appearing in all apps.
I tried to install alternative keyboards, but they don't appear either.
I didn't plug physical keyboard and didn't touch the keyboard settings so it's hard to understand what can be the reason for this.
Did anybody experienced same problem?
Any ideas how to solve?

Hi all, I ask you help for my X8-H. Last week, without any problem with power, I found my X8-H power off. I pushed power button and blu led turned on for 2 seconds and stop. Black screen. I tried take off cable, change HDMI cable but nothing.
So I connect Minix to my PC and I tried to flash FW with USB Burning tool but it stoped at 4% with problem of partition table. I tried connecting to USB 2.0, changed some USB cable but same result. Tried different ROM and different version of USB Burning....

X8-H is dead?
