Connect X8 Plus to Windows 7 PC

Hi I'm a newbie so maybe it's a simple fix I need pointing towards! I want to be able to see the Minix on Windows Explorer and copy files to the hard drive connected directly to the Minix or to play them through the Minix from my PC. The problem is I can't see the PC from the Minix or the Minix and it's HDD from the PC. The connection is not successful either by USB cable or ethernet.
